Ajay has been a boxer at the University level and has been an administrator as well as a ring official with the Maharashtra Amateur Boxing Association from his formative years. He counts Gennady Golovkin as a boxer he looks upto. He has also been significantly impressed by the amateur and professional career of the 2000 Sydney Olympian and Heavyweight, Gurcharan Singh, who went onto have a good professional career in the US between 2003 to 2012. |

In his professional life, Ajay has an BA in Political Science and a Diploma in Interior Design. He works with Mudra, Mumbai as an Interior Designer.
Ajay is married to Snehal, who is a Senior Accountant with a Private firm in Pune. Together they have a 1 year old daughter. Ajay, is the youngest amongst 3 siblings. His elder brother is a Mechanical Engineer based in Mumbai and his elder sister runs an insurance business in Pune.
