Sandeep Bhatti defeats Aimal Sediqzada in 8 Round Unanimous Decision

5th edition of the Action Fight Series witnessed 13 Pro Boxing Fights at The Virat Boxing Club in Sector 29 Gurgaon.

The main event of the evening was an 8 rounder between a pair of good technically endowed Featherweights.

In May this year, Sandeep had suffered 2 consecutive losses in England and was desperately looking to improve his record.

Afghan boxer Aimal, on the other hand had just won a split decision victory over Tanzanian boxer Issa last month in Delhi at an event hosted by Hope & Glory Boxing Promotions.

Bhatti broke down Aimal’s resolute defences over 8 rounds, winning a one-sided decision. All three judges at ringside scored the fight in favor of Bhatti.

With this win, Sandeep Singh Bhatti made a huge leap in the WBC India Professional Boxing rankings for the month of June.

In the women’s Super-Welter division, Neha Chahar won a points decision win over Manjot Rattu and improved her record to 2-1-1. Chahar looked much stronger and kept up her attacking tempo through the 4 rounds.

Women’s highest ranked welterweight Rupinder Kaur notched another victory, defeating debutante Navpreet Kaur by unanimous decision. Kaur improves her record to 4-1-1 after this fight.

In the heavyweight division Ranjeet Singh won a points decision victory over  a much larger Sumit Kumar. This would have been another easy outing for Ranjeet and would help him get his confidence back after a KO loss in England in march earlier this year.

A tightly contested fight between Aniket Mann and Ashish Bhandor ended in a split decision victory for the debutante Bhandor from Himachal Pradesh.  Ashish Bhandor was much larger than Aniket and his significant height and reach advantage was too much for Mann to take.

The remaining fights on the evening were poorly matched and most ended in a 1st round KO or stoppage.
