Vijender Singh Vs Eliasu Sulley : A comeback after 2 Years

The 36-year-old former Olympic bronze medallist, has a record of 12-1 with eight KO’s after turning professional in 2015.

His unbeaten streak of 12-0 was broken at his last fight in Goa against the much younger Artysh Lopsan of Russia.

Organised in association with the state government of Chhattisgarh, this will be the first professional boxing fightnight in Raipur.

“It’s a great opportunity to introduce the sport to the people of the state and hopefully, this can inspire a new generation of boxers,” Vijender Singh said in a statement.

Vijender has been training in Manchester with his coach Lee Beard and he looks ready for this comeback.

I’m really looking forward to this fight, I have been training extensively for this and it will be the perfect opportunity and place to get back into winning ways. There was a tiny blip in the last fight but I am gearing up with my team to defeat Eliasu Sulley, and I cannot wait to get in the ring,” Vijender said.

“I know what I am capable of and I am confident to break his unbeaten professional streak with a knockout. With the right kind of support and training, it is only going to be a matter of time before the hard work pays off.

Sulley, the reigning national West Africa Boxing Union Champion, has a 100 per cent knockout record in the eight bouts that he has competed in and will be looking to extend his unbeaten record
